Aortic Aneurysm Repair
ABDOMINAL AORTIC ANEURYSM (AAA) REPAIR
Treatment of AAA requires a vascular surgeon who is skilled in performing minimally invasive techniques which allow insertion of a stent using a catheter placed from a needle hole in the groin. The vascular surgeon is uniquely qualified to also perform open surgery if an urgent situation is needed. This is not the case with other specialties who contemplate performing endovascular stenting without the skill or expertise to deal with complications.
Dr. Shennib have been involved in the treatment of abdominal aortic aneurysms over the last 32 years. He has pioneered the placement of innovative stents to seal the aneurysm through needle holes placed in the groin and without cutting. He was the first vascular specialist in the East Valley to perform percutenaous "no-surgical cut" placement of a stent in the abdominal aortic aneurysm. He is also an expert in management of high risk patients with complex aortic anuerysms and accepts referrals from the whole southwest, national as well as international patients. He routinely performs abdominal aortic aneurysms in patients over 90 years old.

ASCENDING AORTIC ANEURYSM
Ascending aortic aneurysms are often identified on routine x-rays, echocardiograms and CT scans. While no surgery is indicated when they are small in size, it is important to monitor it and intervene when it becomes of significant large size.
